The Application of the Aluminium Jar in Food

If you're like most people, you've experienced countless aluminium jars of soda or beer in your life, but never thought that aluminium jars themselves might be anything special. Even if you're not like most people, you probably still haven't considered the humble aluminium jar. So what's so special behind aluminium jars?

Ⅰ. Aluminium jars and rust

First, does aluminium rust? The answer is not simply yes or no. Corrosion or oxidation (such as rusting) of metals occurs differently in aluminium compared to iron. Aluminium now appears to resist corrosion even when exposed to air and water. However, when metal is exposed to the atmosphere, a thin layer of aluminium oxide forms on the surface of the metal, which acts like a protective shield. That being said, a jar can react violently with its contents, and if it has an ingredient like Coke in it, a jar can dissolve within three days.

So aluminium jar need strong and reliable rust protection, which comes in the form of an ultra-thin epoxy coating that acts as a strong shield. How much protection each one gets depends on what's inside; before coating the inside of a jar, you need to know how corrosive the beverage is. Aluminium beer jars require less than soda jars. In fact, the beer is so mild that the jar is not strictly required to have a coating. This is because the proteins in beer consume dissolved oxygen, making it unable to contact and corrode the aluminium. (The same goes for citrus juice, where vitamin C consumes oxygen—that's why canners have long been able to pack large orange juice in cans.) In fact, the only reason beer cans are coated is that the carbon dioxide doesn't all at once. Escape - The coating smoothes the metal surface so the gas has no tiny bumps through which it can escape. This keeps the beer frothy.

Ⅱ. The application of the aluminium jar in food

Aluminium jars offer long-term food quality preservation advantages. Aluminium jars provide 100% protection from oxygen, light, moisture and other contaminants. They are rust-free, corrosion-resistant and have one of the longest shelf lives of any type of packaging. Aluminium food cans have an unmatched safety record, and tamper-resistant and tamper-proof packaging reassures consumers that products in aluminium jars already feel safe to prepare and deliver. In addition to food and beverages, there are a large number of products that use aluminium for packaging: aerosol products, paints and thousands of other products on the consumer goods market.
